Global Transport Services had obtained authority for the unloading of aircraft container shipments ‘off airport’ in their own warehouses and required unloading and reloading facilities for containers, weighing up to 6000 kg and up to 20’ in length, arriving by a dedicated transport vehicle.

The containers had to be un-stuffed from either side and on occasions rotated through 180° to implement re-loading onto the transport vehicle. The installation was to be surface mounted with a closed height to match the 20” industry standard, manufactured to a robust, safe, reliable design.

Saxon designed, manufactured and installed a tandem scissor lift truck dock, complete with a powered, reversible, braked motor gearbox driven conveyor, to match that fitted in the transport vehicle.

Container location sensors with auto-rise and fall mechanical stops to prevent accidental over-run were incorporated into the conveyor system.

A fixed height, surface mounted ball mat table was also supplied to provide an unload station and enable the container to be turned around prior to re-loading.

The customer expressed satisfaction with the design and operation of the installation and recommended Saxon to other potential users.
